Listen to the Spirit When He Wants You to Pray- Power of Prayer

I did not write the story to follow about the missionary, but I believe it.  I have been awakened from sleep and stopped in the middle of my day with the impulse to pray for someone.  Once, I was awakened at 3:26 am  and knew I was to pray for my son.  He is a policeman in San Antonio and he was on duty that night.  I fell to my knees and prayed for his safety, then went to sleep.  The next day I called him to ask him what he was doing at that time.

“Oh, that was the meth house.”  He went on to explain that there is a policy that police are not to go into a meth house if there is a strong smell as it could explode at any moment.  That night they approached a house and noticed the strong smell even before they knocked on the door.  But when the door opened, a small boy stood there looking up innocently at my son.  He could not help himself.  He went in and cleared out all the children in the house and then opened all the windows.

And that was why I was compelled to pray at 3:26 am.

This is a very similar story. Enjoy….

Here’s a message that will bring you chills.

Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said, ‘I’ll pray for them later’?Or has anyone ever called you and said, ‘I need you to pray for me, I have this need?’

Read the following story that was sent to me and may it change the way that you may think about prayer, and also the way you pray. You will be blessed by this…

A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan .

‘While serving at a small field hospital in Africa , every two weeks I travelled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days, and required camping overnight at the halfway point.

On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital.

Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord.

I then travelled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident.

Two weeks later I repeated my journey upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines.

He said, ‘Some friends and I followed you in to the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs. But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite.
The young man pressed the point, however, and said, ‘No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone.’

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened. The missionary told the congregation the date, and the man who interrupted told him this story:

‘On the night of your incident in Africa , it was morning here, and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong, I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you. Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?’
The men who had met together to pray that day stood up. The missionary wasn’t concerned with whom they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw.

There were 26.

This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in behalf of those who love Him. If you ever feel such prodding to pray, go along with it, you don’t know what it can mean to that person.

Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell.

I encourage you to forward this to as many people as you know. If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world toward God once again.

As the above true story clearly illustrates, ‘With God all things are possible’.

More importantly, how God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.

After you read this, please pass it on and give God thanks for the beautiful gift of your faith, for the powerful gift of prayer, and for the many miracles He works in your own daily life… And then pass it on. Who says God does not move on the earth today?

Growing Up Weird: Confessions of a Closet Medium

Featured

Hello Everyone!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Karen and I have recently decided that I should confess a secret I have hidden for years. I have the gifts of Prophecy and Discernment that God has given me to use for His purposes. I grew up very confused because I was never taught about these gifts in the churches I attended. In fact, many of them let it be known that they did not believe that God has current prophets. They believed that those gifts were only for the original church. I am here to say that they are wrong.

It plainly says in the  Bible that He will poor out his gift of prophecy on many in the last days…and I believe we are there. I allowed the opinions of others to keep me silent for many years in an effort to avoid confrontation and keep peace in the Church. Now, I believe that it is time to tell the truth.

My hope is to help others out there who have the gifts and who do not know what to do with them. I am not claiming to be all-knowing about these things. Everything I know has been gleaned by experience. For 45 years, I have stumbled along with the gift, learning along the way about the purposes, pitfalls and dangers involved. I have no control over the gift by choice. After taking control of the gift and using it inappropriately, I asked forgiveness and I asked that God only give me what He wants me to know or do. He has honored that request.

Recently, my grandchildren have begun to exhibit the gifts and I have decided that I must help them learn more about their gifts and what to do with them. I am insistent that they realize that these gifts come from God and they must use them for His Honor and Glory only. The temptations to use them for one’s own purposes are rampant and start early.

To help them understand a little more, I have written a book called Growing Up Weird: Confessions of a Closet Medium. In this book, I have chronicled all the events of my life concerning the gift and explained what I have learned about them. I then realized that there are many more people like myself out there in the world who might also like to read it.

It is my hope that, with this blog, I can connect with others who have had similar experiences. My gift did not end when I published this book. I continue to have manifestations of the gift and God continues to bless me by letting me serve Him. It is here, on this blog, that I will continue to chronicle the mysterious events that go along with this gift.

If you would like to ride along with me or contact me, add your email address to the list at the right. Whenever anything happens, I will post it here. Also, you will be able to buy the book on Amazon.com. It is available in ebook format or as a paperback or audiobook.
